Codes of conduct
Codes of conduct highlight best practice on how all people supporting children in angling are expected to behave. Every club is advised to have codes of conduct in place for coaches, parents, children and other volunteers.
Adopting a code of conduct is beneficial for everyone in angling. Adults who are working with children will understand what constitutes appropriate behaviour and can be held accountable to these standards, while kids will enjoy safer, more consistent experiences.
The draft codes outlined here are a starting point and should be adapted for clubs’ and counties’ individual circumstances. The codes have been drafted with UK and Ireland legislation, as well as government guidance, in mind.
