Time to Listen

The Angling Trust has delivered its first Time To Listen course in Seaham on the North East Coast

The Angling Trust has delivered its first Time to Listen course for Club Welfare Officers ( CWO) and club officials who have safeguarding responsibilities.

It covered the laws around Safeguarding and Child Protection as well as the roles for enageing and developing an ethos that supports keeping young people safe whilst at their club.  It offered guidence on reporting incidences as well as strategies to make young people feel part of the future of their club. It also provided guidence on safe recruitment of volunteers and staff including Disclousure and Barring service ( DBS)

The course was delivered at Seaham Sea Angling Club in the North East, with 18 attendees.  The club was keen to provide the room free of charge , as it valued the insight and guidence into supporting young people in angling.
